Red Army commander, Marshal of the Soviet Union (1935). In 1921, he commanded the Red Army troops in the Tambov region that suppressed the Aleksander Antonov’s uprising.

(Army Commander) (1935). In 1921, he was Deputy Commander to Mikhail Tukhachevsky who commanded the Red Army troops in the Tambov region that suppressed the Aleksander Antonov’s uprising.

Red Army commander. In 1921, when the Tambov rebellion was suppressed, he commanded the Separate Cavalry Brigade. He was wounded and received an Honorary Revolutionary Award Weapon.

Vladimir Antonov-Ovseenko (1884–1939),
revolutionary, Soviet military leader, and statesman. From February to August of 1921, he chaired the Plenipotentiary Commission of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee (VTsIK) for fighting banditry in Tambov governorate. He was one of the leaders in suppressing the Tambov Rebellion.
